I was trying to get this thing working right from the day i got the net connection here…
But, kppp got no solution for me..

I knew Anindya wrote some article in gnulinuxclub regarding the same.
So i jus went there and saved the article, booted into my fav debian 😀 and reading it and chkking the thing..

huhhhhhhhhhhh grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i got this..

deb:~# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
bash: wvdialconf: command not found

Told myself, no probs Archu… jus open up synaptic, typed “wvdial” in the search option, i got the package there, selected it and prompted for install… and i was prompted to insert my cd 4. Installation went on fine. I was asked whether i would like to configure the wvdial now.. ofcourse i told yes..!

During the configuration, i was reported that it wasnt able to find my modem… :-S

Then i followed anindya’s steps for the same

deb:~# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

Modem configuration written to /etc/wvdial.conf.
ttyS0<Info>: Speed 115200; init “ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0”

Finally modem detected..
then connection setup..
this is wat i was getting repeatedly…

It was really irritating.. i got the same error in kppp too.. :-X

Anyway, i opened up the wvdial.conf from /etc folder and copied the following there

[Modem0]

Modem=/dev/ttyS1

Baud=115200

Dial Command = ATDT

init1=ATZ

init2=AT+CRM=1

Flow Control= Hardware (CRTSCTS)

[Dialer reliance]

Username = <My UserName>

Password = <My Password>

Phone = #777

Stupid Mode = 1

Inherits= Modem0

Then saved the file and finally…
here is wat i got
