Installed Debian Sarge 3.1 Stable release…

I was not much impressed since i never liked to sit before the monitor
and insert all the 14 cds. But i was a fool. I forgot that Iam not
going to install all the packages, which may take more than 20 GB HDD
space …!

Finally i selected the minimal (nothing but default) set of packages
and it took only one cd, believe me ONLY ONE CD….! It was rather a
surprise.

So i jus booted, i got the grub, which is quite intelligent this time.
But not that much..

It showed all my Oses and the one which i removed before installing
Debian (Suse 9.3 prof) it showed that entry too. This is rather wierd,
because i removed and its that place where debian sits now. Ok Grubby
issues never ends…

Yes, Debian was kool,

Huh… I switched off the UPS , ouch, the pc is now off, showing the
black monitor. :((

Ok,… i just rebooted it (actually booted it!) and saw gdm was not starting..
so possibly i went to recovery mode and and started KDE, using “startkde”
i got a list of errors.. this not found, that not found, not able to
connect, etc.. etc..

Made a list and posted to ILUGC. One of them responded, asked me to
start gdm in /etc/xinet.d/ did it and it worked šŸ™‚ Finally i made it!!

Except my mouse stuff, again problem
The scroll was not detected, which means iam not able to scrool the
contents. :-S

This is not encouraging, because I planned to use Debian as my primary
OS. And without a scroll how would i do those web magix.. šŸ˜¦

Your /etc/X11/XF86Config should look like this: (in particular,
“Protocol” must be “ImPS/2”):

Section “InputDevice”
Identifier “Configured Mouse”
Driver “mouse”
Option “CorePointer”
Option “Device” “/dev/psaux”
Option “Protocol” “ImPS/2”
Option “ZAxisMapping” “4 5”
EndSection

Need to check it out.:-S
