We had some time killing presentation about the companies policy and other stuff.. finally they started to tell us we are Criminals (who dont excel in work) .. the smart interpreter in front of us started to tell that whatever we were doing .. slogging to accomplish is only a drop in the expected ocean. Its also told to us that even if we work 48/14 we cannot even come close to their expectation, no idea why they wanted to tell us that fact in first place.. no idea…. :O .

           Finally this year there was no increase in the pay cheque and there is always increase in no of emails with loads of work.. always makes me to re-think as I never wanted this kind of de-motivating job.. when I look around everyone seemed to be happy about their work, no complains everyone sometimes even felt they dono much and they are paid ok to lead their life. Its kind of interesting that I had aim to get into such job when i was n school/college.. life is wierd and aims are not always fulfilling… and no idea why no one wants to change the path when they are half way around and most of it meets an end where we keep a shop and settle down without even knowing we know to walk ahead..

           Why do we need to talk, give opinions.. when our words are barely counted.. better save energy to sing our fav song later

Today is the last day of this calendar yr.. Though tere is lot hype created around this new yr stuff.. I exactly dono the impact it has in everyone’s life except for the change in the yr in their calendars.. and ofcourse ppl get older But calendars are gud actually.. they come in different colors, sizes, shapes and ofcourse with astrology predictions.. and wat not… even explanation abt tat particular day.. hmm.. when I jus sit around here lazing and thinking about the new yr and great/bad stuff happened in the last yr.. thats quiet a lot.. to say..

-> I wanted to quit my job and since I didn’t get any job I changed my team, the least tat can be done! (I also want my manager to quit, but I don think he gives a try to that thought! )

-> I learned a lot abt *people* as we do always in all part of our life, in a harder way

-> I donated a lot of money this year without anyone’s knowledge than I ever thought..

-> I got my first credit card this yr.. finally one bank trusted me, while many rejected my application

-> I changed my mobile since I lost mine 3 yr old one in my friend’s wedding and this new one costed 6k, which many of my colleagues think its old fashioned.

-> I stopped visiting deals2buy.com/ebay.com for time pass, which always ended up asking ppl at home for some junk digital stuff, which ofcourse costs a fortune according to them.

-> hey, Chandrayaan was launched on my birthday

-> I stopped working for 15 hrs a day and started sleeping 15 hrs a day

-> I understood how wrigley’s double mint becomes sticky when I keep it under my shelf for 6 months

-> I figured out I won’t die if there is no internet!

-> My room is air-conditioned finally!

-> I concluded that I wont be able to read any book completely – after wasting lot of money in buying and stacking them

-> I understood at some point that money isn’t making me happy anymore!

This list goes on and I think there are yet more *understood* *figure-out* *concluded* *learned* needs to happen this yr too.. life need to move on whatever it is and I think it does teaches everyone its lesson dues at the proper instant! Only way is to have our senses open to Learn!

Its kind of surprise to the entire media and cricket fans.. esp fans like me and arch
But it has to come one day and that day is coming sooner.

I lost track of cricketing series few months back, when IPL was over. Felt it to be boring sometimes.. may be that becas the team I support, locals or nationals kept loosing again and again..

Back to Sourav.. The one match I couldn’t forget or rather made me his fan was the Match against Pakistan in Bangladesh tri series. I don have the statistics (date/time) of the match. India had a 300+ target and sourav hit a massive 124 to save us frm perishing That was really a nice match, everyone including then 80+ yr old paati watching it with complete focus, so that we don even change the channel for ads And as everyone does it was through wonderful matches he took the team towards the world cup last time… sry last before !

I don’t think he will become a coach or a commentator , easy careers for the retired cricketers, not becas he s a prince of kolkatta.. but jus that it wont be his ground to show the talent. I can never imagine him to stand in the center of the stadium interviewing other cricketers like Ravi Shastri or Srikanth and asking questions which were asked to him like “how did u feel after scoring an 100?” …

Though he was always around controversies, finally did show his potential in the pitch and made his point there than anywhere else!

Hope to read his autobiography if at all he takes up writing as his career..

Well the FOOL part is really true.. ok this is how I come to *everybody* conclusion. I try to check with 3 ppl with varied perspectives and if 3 of them tell same thing abt an issue i consider their opinion as everybody’s opinion. And those 3 ppl were always frm different age groups and different localities and ofcourse as mentioned earlier, perspectives.

So here is wat happened with one of those ppl:

X1: Hey hi.. can u help me in formatting my resume? I have the interview in 2 days

Me: Sure .. send it

X1 sends a doc and waits

Me: Edits the doc, and adds some stuff, make some pointers and mail it back

X1: I cant open the file u mailed me now. It tells “windows cannot find an application to open your file”

Me, remember now that I use openffice. Told him same thing, he gets pissed and goes offline. I open his doc save in .doc format and mail him. He sends a msg telling me tat why am not having/using MS office and jus using some *crap*. To him I looked foolish for not following the trend.

Other 2 incidents were pretty too rude :-S so no bloggin abt them.. Finally me being branded as foolish geek without using windows and people still have the opinion, atleast over here in India that without having Microsoft windows in ur computer, u can’t do any computer related job.

Opensource needn’t be popular, free software needn’t be popular, but the piracy stuff atleast needs some popularity over here. Many of my frends, and ppl around have windows xp or 2000 cd and never did anyone pay for it, unless it comes with laptop. Why so much confusion and illegality, when u hav something more safe and better which comes with very less hassile and u hav ppl around the world helping u.. I still dont understand.

And I run gnu software in my laptop for the past 2 weeks, and literally no issues with anything, except tat I am yet to configure my wifi thing here. I also intend to not format this stuff for atleast an yr. And here is a sample screenshot..

Last year I just heard ppl telling me …

sumone: “Hey wat are ur plans for independence day weekend..??” though the country is alien to me, I was wondering why people are planning so much for one day holiday.. whereas back home, it was a mini Flag hosting in school days and a mere holiday with junk food == independence day/republic day watever.. never ever thought it meant so much..

But there is something different from this year.. no I am not goin to quit my *job* and sell flags door to door or relocate to kashmir to fly doves.. hmm.. but I am planning something.. lets see how things move..

I am still goin to sleep late and wake at the next day noon.. its never goin to change.. atleast the first half of the sentence.. till there is no power cut.. at nights..

I just listen to the latest fav song, just thinking what I have gone through these days.. one single word stands out.. friends!

So wat it is like to miss your friends when they are so near, yet away.. last few years hav gone very fast and just now I got some vetti time to think it.. For everyone college life would rather end up as fun, romance, or even with simple sadness ( am not talking about the arrear papers LOL) but I am just left with some memories of many ppl, but still I am not able to figure out those are happy ones or sad ones.. but it always feels good to remember ppl in later part of life.. no no am not in my sixties..

I joined a college and was put up in college hostel…  Hmm… it was a great life.. and the one I laughed lots than ever in my life. It was a place of everything ( i mean insects too) but I loved it.. be it scaring the gal sleeping next to me or sleeping in hostel when classes are in progress without anyones knowledge or making the place dirty with all my assignment papers.. or acting innocent for something I did which screwed up seniors who are searching my roomies for it everything just looks like dream. Now all my room mates in the hostel are not in touch with me, but I still keep track of them through some source or the other.. Not that I don want to break the ice.. but there is no ice .. but lot of mist which makes people think something is there, even if it is not there ..

Why all this flashback suddenly… out of the blue one of my frend (x roomie) cald up and told another roomie s carrying and they (some bunch of new found frens) paying visit to her. And told me to be in touch.. No idea why ppl are calling up now, though I have an accessible phone number for the past 3 years, that too same number.. may be she also sat alone in dark sometime recently.. ! ??

And one more frend of mine was having bday in jan 20th, so just sent a bday wish.. but got a response which meant surprise + advice. May be people forget that everyone grow up sometime and can also have some stuff within skull to think abt.. Then I finally understood one point that whenever someone wishes for gud, then we should accept rather than contemplating with past and it hurts the otherside badly when wishes are thrashed or questioned.

Was watching dasavatharam with appa today.. and there was this once scene in which one char n the movie tells.. “Watever happens..! Life must go on!”.. I was suddenly getting the point about everything.. watever happy/sad .. whether love/hate.. life must go on.. since we might be of some help to someone.. someday..! and it might be anyday.. which could turn out to be a gud day

So, was jus thinking how long has it been since I blogged.. looks like a month now.. such huge gaps were part of blogging in gud (?) old college days.. but later after stepping into professional adulthood.. things changed.. I started blogging quite long stories which were part of my sleepless nights.. life was fun.. and look like I have crossed that part too..! Now ppl look up to me to take up responsibilities.. which I thought wouldn’t happen since I think I am still young (??) hehee…

Now my life moves on planning when to clean up my room, house, shelves, bathrooms… my lil scooty and everything.. and finally end up missing/messing my health.. don think my house is super clean/attractive these planning stuff was result of very bad display of home in recent days.. Next comes bill paying.. phone, insurance etc etc.. and looks like ppl n home are happy that I am there to take care of these things which are simple yet requires some sense of responsibility. Think I should reduce my working hours in coming days.. which means.. go out to office at the time when hands don burn off while riding scooty and return back when sun is still alive which never happened in the past few months atleast, whether am working or not is never an issue anyways I am paid less than a call center rookee.. and I have stopped complaining about that, becas no use in complaining about things which are not in our hands and ofcourse money is not everything

Jus thought I will take a break from busy schedule and write some crap asusual.. and looks like we need a bigger home.. lot of stuffs.. I don have space even to hide them out.. big house means big money.. big money means better job (?) or job shift.. which cant happen becas of the above paragraph And it looks like am realising I need some time for myself too, minus computers, computing. And it also looks* like I have gud interesting hobbies, which I never knew till now..

Looks wierd why I am happy about tat.. I am not a known face among family / frens.. when someone in my office was talking abt having a social life, I was thinking tat i was not aware of tat term .. in a practical sense of it atleast. And it was so interesting tat whoever was in my life likes to accept me for the same. Whenever I look outside, within someone’s chappals (why always shoes!) I feel tat I am different hehe in the negative sense…

I dont have a big gang of frens, I don have great weekend bash as other sw proff does, and I am never comfortable in any functions or hangouts..! I once asked my fren wat does it take to develop a better social circle, he told me tat I need to jus stop talking to computers and rather talk to *real* people :/ sounded wierd though.. Its long since I spoke to someone other than I need to!

One small help could bring smile in a face of stranger, I was so lucky to see that on Friday, I dropped an old women some thing close to a km, she was so happy, that I was happy atleast till I came home, I cald up my frend to ask whether this is social circle, he was giving a gud lecture for 10 mins, I stil din get a point why this is not a social circle?! He told I got to take up some learners classes reg the same..! Interesting, I am a very poor student.. cant help it! I don think I will have any circle or square any time in my life.. hahhaha… I love to live a border less life!

So why is integrity thought and spoken everywhere these days..? No idea watever..

But, suddenly I was just thinking, I got an email about how integrity so important in my company.. and I have always been and be in the wilder situations involving conflicts of interests, and life just moves on, if I ask something, I get the response frm the fellows.. “This is how corporate works”, “This is how business works..!” May be I don’t know how the world works, May be I don’t belong here!

I dono why people place their change Vs ego policy or change Vs benefit policy..
